The Irish Music Society of Oulu was established in the fall of 2005
from the group of musicians and session goers to further promote
traditional Irish music and culture in Oulu and Northern Finland.
Membership fee is 10€ and is valid for 5 years. Re-newel of
membership is 5€ for every 5 years thereafter. Membership to
our society is without regard to race, color, creed, religious affiliation,
nationality, age, or gender.

including your contact information and briefly describe your interest
in Irish music and culture.
The goals of the Irish Music Society
of Oulu are:
To celebrate, promote, and further develop traditional Irish Music
in Northern Finland, drawing from the many, music-rich regions of
Ireland.
To organize regular music sessions so that the people of Oulu can
enjoy the Irish tradition of music and craic in the company of friends.
To bring musicians/bands, artists, and teachers from Ireland to
the City of Oulu for larger Irish Music events, concerts, happenings,
instruction workshops, presentations, etc.
To teach, inform, perform, and offer opportunities in traditional
Irish music and culture to the music students, youth, and families
of Oulu and nearby environs.
To promote the local, traditional Irish bands of Oulu.
To support other Irish music happenings in Finland.
To celebrate Celtic music and culture through dance, language, the
arts, and any national event or holidays relating to our goals.
